The Geelong Small Business Festival was delivered as a virtual event for the first time ever in 2020, to connect, inspire and grow local businesses when they needed it most.
Our GSBF2020 keynote event featured Mia Freedman, one of Australia’s best-known digital entrepreneurs.
The co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of the Mamamia Women’s Media Company shared her experience of building a media empire from home. This Facebook live event attracted over 3000 views.
The GSBF2020 program covered business essentials post-COVID-19, marketing, sales and online promotion, starting and growing a business, expanding networks, career development, leading and managing people, and health and wellbeing.
Over 1300 people attended GSBF2020. Our audience shared very positive feedback about events they attended, with 88% reporting they received information they would apply to their business, 89% reporting festival events helped them gain additional skills and knowledge, and 93% reporting the festival event they attended was relevant to their needs.
GSBF2020 was proudly supported by the City of Greater Geelong and the Victorian Government.
